Malhar performance leaves audience spellbound
Enthralling ‘Malharotsava’-celebration of the monsoon season

Chandigarh August 2014: Indian National Theatre in collboration with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan organised ‘Malharotsava’-an evening of music of the rainy season at Jaisukhlal Hathi Sadan, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Sector 27 here.

Young performing artiste Aditya Khandve from Mumbai presented some rarely heard varieties of the magnificent raga Malhar. He was accompanied on the tabla by Mahmood Khan and by Vinay Mishra on the harmonium.
Aditya is a rare breed of young male vocalists pursuing Jaipur gayaki . He is fortunate to have a rich linage of doyens of Jaipur Gharana through his guru Ganyogini Smt. Dhondutai Kulkarni.

His performance included renditions in different ragas like Raag Gaur Malhar, Raag Hamir, Raag Paraj, and Raag Meera Bai ki Malhar. The audience was left spellbound listening to his performance leaving a lasting imprint in the hearts of those present.
