Unique ‘cricket match’ adds to Holi festivities
92.7 BIG FM, the radio initiative of Reliance Broadcast Network Limited (RBNL), made Holi a unique experience for its listeners with the BIG Pichkari League which was played at the S D Senior Secondary School, Sector 24 grounds yesterday. 4 teams, BIG FM Red Royals Panchkula Blue Bombers, Chandigarh Green Giants and Mohali Yellow Yorkers, participated in the BIG Pichkari League. Each team comprised of 6 players who were all listeners of BIG FM. The League was won by the Chandigarh Green Giants.
The teams played holi with each other in a cricket format. Water balloons were used as balls and baseball bats for batting. The fielders used pichkaris to spray coloured water on the batsmen to confuse them as did the opposing team which sprayed coloured water on the fielders. BIG FM RJ’s Panjak and Sophie were the Umpires. The winning team got a holi special kit from BIG FM.
