Inter-school Independence Day Cultural Fest Brings out the Hidden Talent

Mohali, 30 August 2014: Independence Day cultural fest – ‘TIRANGAA 2014’ was held at JLPL School here today in association with Pearson Schools on 30^th of August.

The theme of the fest ‘Iconic Indian Monuments’ was celebrated in all Pearson Schools across country, this fest has already driven number confirmed participation of enthusiastic children from various other schools in Mohali. This fest nurtures the spirit of patriotism and kindled the spirit of celebrations.

‘TIRANGAA’ inherits its concept from Pearson Schools in line with its vision of tapping the hidden talent in every child. By providing platforms like this, children are encouraged to exhibit best of their talent in Arts and Music in their respective age groups.

This kind of competition helps to build student’s brain towards creative thinking and also helps them to have an open line of communication, said Poonamjit Kaur, School Principal. Such fun events should always be a part of the curriculum to make students ready for a creative bend of mind and explore more avenues beyond academics, she added.

The Independence Day themed decoration at JLPL School added on to the celebratory mood which was filled with excitement, charm and creativity. The event included several unique competitions to pay tribute to our cultural heritage and mark the historical significance of the country.

Some of these activities at ‘TIRANGAA 2014’ included colour the monument, jigsaw puzzles, poster making, treasure hunt and street plays which added to the creative zeal of the children.
